“Woman Running with the River” is about a new creation myth of humankind. The performance begins with an encounter of a woman and a man, starting from a learned patriarchal relationship. An unequal balance of power relation splits the woman’s integrity as a subject that makes her question and look for a change. She goes through a journey by the river where she discovers the equal ‘origin of life’. “The myth of the river” empowers her integrity and soul. - Gonca Gümüşayak-

“The permanent quest of human has always been to question the creation, to understand the nature and the universe. By the help of myth, the fiction and the reality intersects. The performance proposes a journey full of images inspired by the symbolic aspects of the myth. The present, the past and the future were brought together to establish a new present. Different layers were constructed from the parts to the whole, from the surface to the deep, from the visible to the invisible. The effort in the realization of “The Woman Running with the River” is a critique of the dictator that effects human’s actions and thoughts internally and externally, and the patriarchal system which dominates it.”
